It is narrated that Imam Mahdi Ahs has said "When you buy an earthen pot for a paisa or two, you test it by knocking it repeatedly, and you buy it if it gives good sound and if it is not broken, cracked or damaged: otherwise, you return it; when you claim to be seeking Allah, how can you be let off without tests and trials?"

It is narrated that if somebody asked Imam Mahdi Ahs for a piece of his apparel or footwear, he would say "Take this and use it and do not keep it in the house (as a memento). Even if you wear the skin of this servant (of Allah), you will not achieve salvation (najat) unless you act according to what I have asked you to do."

Further, it is narrated that Imam Mahdi Ahs said that "The non-acceptance (inkar) of Mahdi al-Mau'ood (Ahs) is the non-acceptance of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.S), the non-acceptance of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.S) is the non-acceptance of the Quran and the non-acceptance of Quran is the non-acceptance of Allah."

Imam Mahdi Ahs is narrated to have said that, "The commandments I explain are those that I explain (from the information I receive from Allah and) by the command of Allah, and whoever rejects even one letter of these commandments, will be called to account before Allah (and punished)."

Imam Mahdi Ahs has said "Allah will not ask you whether you are the son of Ahmad s.a.s or of Imam Mahdi Ahs. Allah will ask for (good) deeds with love and devotion."
Hence, O brother! Look at the commandments, and do not rely on being inside the daira or on that we will achieve salvation as charity (sadaqa) from Imam Mahdi Ahs.

It is narrated by Miyan Mustafa Rzi. (a companion of Imam Mahdi Ahs) that the Imam Mahdi Ahs stayed for some days at Mando City. Rooms for the companions of the Imam Ahs were constructed there. One of the brothers erected some poles and spread out a palm leaves mat or a cloth over them for shade. Somebody came to meet Imam Mahdi Ahs and sat down under the shade. He offered something to the Imam Ahs.
After he had gone, the Imam Ahs said "Remove this room from here. A worldly thing has come here for the first time."
The room was removed. It was set up elsewhere.

It is narrated that Malik Hussain Bhatti wrote a letter to (the concerned person in a) small town to give three hundred maunds of jowar (millet) to Bandagi Miyan Syed Khundmir Rzi. and sent it to Bandagi Miyan Rzi. with a request to send somebody to collect and bring it.
Bandagi Miyan Rzi. returned the letter and said the "servants of Allah would not go from village to village to collect food grains. They only took whatever is destined to come to them without any means."

It is narrated by Bandagi Miyan Shah Nemat Rzi. that he requested Imam Mahdi Ahs to "permit him to read (and learn)."
Imam Mahdi Ahs disallowed reading and said "You would not have accepted the Mahdiat of this servant (of Allah), if you were learned."

It is narrated that Bandagi Miran Syed Mahmood Rzi. was reading Tamheed, a book. Imam Mahdi Ahs asked him "What are you reading?" Bandagi Miran said "Tamheed."
Imam Mahdi Ahs instructed him "Give it up. Try to perform zikr, so that a condition (halat) comes about when you can understand Tamheed."

Imam Mahedi Ahs has said that "The light (noor) of faith (iman) is enough to understand the meaning of Quran, when it is explained."

It is narrated that Malik Bakhkhan Rzi. asked Bandagi Miyan Syed Khundmir Rzi. "So and so reads Quran very much. Does it give any benefit?"
In reply Bandagi Miyan Rzi. said "If the Quran is read even in the way, it should be read, it creates a veil of light (noor) between Allah an His servant. But, by the remembrances (zikr) of Allah, even the veil of light is torn."

Further, Imam Mahdi Ahs is quoted as having said that "the person, who reads much, is humiliated much, and demands the world; and he who does not demand the world, becomes profusely proud."
The Imam Mahedi Ahs said after this "Do what this servant (of Allah) asks you to do." In other words, He said "Remember Allah (zikr), so that you achieve the vision of Allah."

It is narrated that Imam Mahdi Ahs said, He who remembered Allah for three pahr (nine hours), was a hypocrite; he who remembered Allah for four pahr (twelve hours) was an idolater (mushrik); and he who remembered Allah for five pahr (fifteen hours) was an imperfect mumin. He, who remembered Allah for eight pahr (twenty-four hours), was a perfect momin."
Imam Mahdi's commandment was from the commandment of Allah. Allah's commandments do not change. If this practice is not there, how can there be faith (iman) and how can there be the practice of Imam Mahdi Ahs.

It is narrated that Imam Mahdi Ahs said "if a spark is thrown into a house full of cotton, and is taken away instantly, it burns just a speck, but if the kalima, La ilaha illalah, stays at the heart of a person as long as it took for the spark to burn the speck, it (the kalima) would burn all the loves and affections of things other than Allah in the heart of that person."
Alas! Such an incident has never occurred when the kalima stayed at our heart even for such an insignificantly short period, in our long lives.

It is narrated that the rooms of Bandagi Miyan Syed Khundmir Rz and Miyan Makhdoom Rz were adjoining. Bandagi Miyan asked Miyan Makhdoom Rz what meaning Imam Mahdi Ahs had explained of the Quranic phrase, 'bil-guduwwi wal-aasali' (in S. 7:205) (The Arabic words mean 'in the mornings and evenings').
Afterwards, Bandagi Miyan Rz regretted saying: "How much time have we wasted after the Maghrib prayers in this conversation!"
Then he said: "The person, who indulges in useless conversation, neglecting the remembrance of Allah, after the Maghrib prayers, is against (the practice of) Imam Mahdi Ahs."
(Insaaf Nama - Matan Sharif, N.69)
The Imam Mahedi Ahs said, according to a narration, that the effect of Truth (Haq) is like that of the crescent moon; it increases every day. However, the effect of un-Truth (batil) is like the full moon, it decreases till it finally disappears.
Allah says in Quran: It is He Who hath sent His Apostle with Guidance and religion of Truth, to proclaim it, over all religions, even though the Pagans may detest (it).

Somebody asked Imam Syed Muhammad Mahdi al-Mau'ood Ahs to explain the purport and essence of all the divine speech (Kalamullah-Allah's Books) in one sentence.
The Imam Ahs said "I will explain the purport and essence of all the divine Books-The Old Testament, The Psalms of David, The Bible and The Quran- in one sentence, and that sentence is La ilaha illa Llah (There is no god but God-Allah).
